Channel99 maintains the most comprehensive B2B company recognition database in the world thanks to our many firmographic provider relationships and proprietary Company ID technology. Although this is powerful from time to time there will be companies which are uploaded by user which are not able to be matched at this time.
Why Don't All The Companies In My Audience Match?
The largest factors in matching are starting with accurate data. The following reasons are the primary contributors to a salesforce report or CSV/File upload company count not matching what you see when you upload an audience.
- Missing Domains: No domain was provided in the salesforce report/CSV file the user is using to create an Audience.
- Inactive/Expired Domains: Because Channel99 keeps it's data up to date domains may sometimes change through acquisition, ownership changes or rebranding. Old domains which are no longer active may not match to C99 systems.
- Duplicate Domains: Channel99 uses the TLD (top level domain) for all matching and does not take into account subdomains or subfolders. If multiple accounts in your upload use the same top level domain only the first domain in the list as submitted will be matched.
- Formatting Errors: Although we do our best to clean uploaded data, domains missing proper formatting like the commercial entity code (.com, .net, .ai, .io...) may have trouble being matched. If subfolders or subdomains are used in a domain Channel99 will ignore them so the will not cause an error.
- Do Matching Domain: The least likely reason for not matching is that C99 does not currently have the domain you are looking for. When this happens we log the unmatched domain and attempt to collect that data through other sources over time so you might find your audiences growing as more domains match.
