Why is it Important to connect Salesforce to Channel99?
Channel99 provides insights into which channels and vendors offer the most value to your organization. By integrating with Salesforce, you receive real-time opportunity data alongside channel/vendor expenditures, aiding in evaluating their effectiveness.
Additionally, with this integration, creating and updating Audiences becomes effortless. When an Audience is based on a Salesforce report within Channel99, it syncs with that report multiple times daily, ensuring any modifications to the report are mirrored in Channel99.
What Information is pulled into Channel99 from Salesforce?
- Opportunity Object - This object is used in the Analytics section of the platform to monitor both pipeline stages and closed deals. The platform is designed to import specific standard fields that are detailed below.
- Account Object - This object is essential for creating audiences, which are groups of companies that can be incorporated into the platform's reporting. The function of the Account object is to offer detailed insights into the performance of channels and vendors on smaller groups of accounts as opposed to the entire Total Addressable Market (TAM). The Channel99 platform uses the following standard fields related to opportunities.≈
- Lead and Contact Object - Measurement of non-digital events within the platform provides insights into how events which happen off your website effects pipeline influence and closed won revenue. The Channel99 platform will use the Lead and Contact objects to match Leads, Tasks, Events and Campaign Membership to accounts in order to place them on the correct timeline and within the correct audiences for analysis. This data is not used to track onsite behavior to avoid user based tracking privacy issues
- Campaign Object: This object allows any campaign in salesforce to be visualized and analyzed such as webinars, events and bulk email sends.
- Tasks and Events Objects: This object includes mostly sales interactions between your target accounts and your organization. Calls, Emails and Events are able to be counted as interactions and given influence within the platform.
- Limits API: C99 needs access to the limits API to ensure we observe no more than 80% usage of the daily API call usage in Salesforce. This only occurs during the innitial connection while historic data is downloaded as updates are fairly small.

What permissions are needed for the integration user?
- To connect Channel99 with Salesforce, only read permissions are necessary.
NOTE: Some users use their own Salesforce login to setup this connection while others use a "Integration user" within Salesforce with custom permission sets. This is usually created by a salesforce administrator.
How do I connect Channel99 to Salesforce?

Log into the Channel99 platform and navigate to "Settings" and "Integrations" located at the bottom left of your screen.
- Click "+ SFDC Account"
- This will open up a new tab prompting you to log in to Salesforce. Choose the correct login within the Salesforce login page.

After granting access to Channel99, you'll be taken back to the platform page.
NOTE: Data will start to appear within 4 hours of the connection.
